Financial Considerations

Sources for Funding:

Those accepted for treatment at Rose Hill Center typically receive funding for their care from the following sources:
  • Community Mental Health (CMH) Programs: Many Michigan county community mental health agencies fund treatment at Rose Hill for their citizens.

  • Insurance Companies: Although we are happy to work with insurance providers, it should be noted that few provide mental health benefits for residential rehabilitation programs.

  • Private: Some residents are supported privately by their families; others pay for their own stay at Rose Hill.

  • Financial Assistance Program: Rose Hill is committed to providing treatment to all adults with mental illness. Therefore, Rose Hill has established a program to help those individuals/families who cannot fund the entire cost of treatment. The amount of the assistance offered is based on each family's financial need as determined by an independent evaluation firm, and is subject to approval by the Financial Assistance Committee appointed by the Rose Hill Center Board of Directors.

If you'd like to apply for financial assistance, you may download the financial assistance application. However, it is strongly advised the applicant and/or family discuss the Financial Assistance Program with the Director of Admissions prior to submitting the application to the independent evaluation firm.

An Examination of Costs:

At Rose Hill, fees are based on the level of service provided:

  • Residential Rehabilitation Program: The fees for participating in this program are $240 per day for a double room or $255 per day for a single room.
  • Transitional Living Program: Transitional programming is offered at two levels based on the level of services provided. The Comprehensive Transitional Living Program is $100 per day; Modified Transitional Living is $60 (with added services available for a fee.)
  • Extended Residential: The fee for Horton House or Malta House is $180 per day.
  • Community Support Program: The fees for participating in this program vary depending on the level of service provided and range from $300 to $740 per month.

Length of Stay:

The length of stay at Rose Hill is dependent on each resident's Individualized Treatment Plan -- a series of goals developed and agreed upon by the individual and clinical staff.

Generally speaking, participation in the Residential Rehabilitation Program may range from six to nine months. Time spent (if any) by clients in the Transitional Living Program varies widely. Rose Hill's Community Support Program is available by choice with costs determined by the level of services required. The Extended Residential program is on-going.
